School vaccines

The Columbia County Health Department will give back-to-school immunizations from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 10 at all three health department clinics. School festival

University Hospital's Back to School Festival will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Evans Middle School on Hereford Farm Road.

School event

The Christ Family Life Center and Grovetown Parks and Recreation will hold the 2009 Back-2-School Explosion from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Park Community Center, 1040 Newmantown Road. For information, call (706) 231-8652.

Free movie

The free Family Movie Matinees conclude at 1 p.m. today with the 3-D version of Coraline at the Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center at the Columbia County Library. Seating is limited; tickets are distributed starting at noon. For information, call (706) 312-7192.

Grant workshop

U.S. Rep. Paul Broun will hold a grants fair from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education. If enough people are interested, Grovetown will provide a van for transportation. For information, call (706) 863-4576.

Reed Creek

Reed Creek Park will hold educational programs for children 5 and older, including pond exploration, 10-11 a.m. Thursday, and insect investigations, 10-11 a.m. Friday. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For information, call the park at (706) 210-4027.

Young rangers

Mistletoe State Park in Winfield will hold a Young Junior Rangers program for 6- and 7-year-olds from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Cost is $10 per child. Space is limited to 10 children, and reservations are required. For information, call (706) 541-0321.

Mammograms

The University Hospital Mobile Mammography Unit will be at the Evans Government Center parking lot from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. For an appointment, call (706) 774-4149.
